Random list #656
Oliver is spending the night with his Mema. He stayed last night, with Isaac for the first time ever. He did great. I miss him. He likes to sit in my lap and make me guess his animal sounds. Oooh, it's a kitten! Then he switches and I say ooh, it's a puppy! We round it out with Oh no, a baby DINOSAUR! (maybe you have to SEE it to really get it, in which case, I'm sorry I made you read that)
If you want to take your sweet injured 6 year old out for lunch as a special treat, be prepared. People at McDonalds give you the stink eye when your kid has a black eye and an arm cast. Just so you know.
I'm so anxious to read a book in a series that I love. The problem? It doesn't come out til March 2013.
I made my own laundry soap last weekend. It's working great. This makes me like, 33% granola now, doesn't it?
I have to go buy more black duct tape. To tape up the bumper on my car. It's totally embarrassing to pull up with not only duct tape, but a bumper that's hanging off because the duct tape is coming loose. I think driving it around and parking it at social events should be some kind of character building exercise.
One of my good friends is practically my music and books twin. Our taste in those areas is almost identical. I introduced her to a new fave song of mine, and she HATES it. I can't believe it. Has the earth come off of its axis? What happened? She actually said to me, "I forgive you for making me listen to that because you're my best friend and I'm choosing to overlook this because of our history." Harsh.

I can only imagine about the odd looks in public :/ poor you and little guy!
@tootlezbug - it's the J.R. Ward Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I <3 them!
You should video tape Oliver with the sounds.
What happened? I obviously missed the injury update.
Making your own detergent? Wow--impressed.
your random list just made me smile this saturday morning.
duct tape IS character building for sure. and when i see or hear of others being ok with character building, well, lets just say my admiration of them sky rockets. kuddos to you. :)
happy wknd.
I'm loving the duct tape part of this post. You are so good at being ok with who you are. That's why everyone loves you.
I've been following the story of your son even though I haven't told you so. Glad he's doing well. Last year our school teacher's wife got hit with a ball on the head playing softball and she had two black eyes for the longest time. It was hard for her to go out in public. Who is going to believe a plainly dressed Mennonite lady who says she was playing softball and has two black eyes? Her poor husband!
Happy Saturday, Beth~
love you and your blog.
@stephensmustang - Elijah fell out of the tree! He broke his right wrist and fractured his skull from his hairline down to his eye. Poor kid. He's doing okay. Get's his longer wearing cast tomorrow and back to school on Wednesday.
@quiet_hearts - Oh boy! That is kind of hilarious. MOstly since it wasn't ME it happened to.
@jennieanne84 - I <3 you too!
Poor guy. I'll be praying for him. hugs.
