Confirmation
This weekend was Palm Sunday, and it was my oldest son Alex’s confirmation. What a wonderful day it was. I was not raised Lutheran so we did not experience confirmation the same way a youth does who goes through the process. I was so proud of him for completing the 2 year program of study.

do they still have to take a name of a saint? like we did back in the 1950′s my brother took Francis(Frank Sinatra) and I took Pauline (Paul one of the Beatles) well, at least we picked out some good saints.lol
@Texasjillcarmel - lol! No they did not have to pick a saint name. They had to answer some questions and they had to write an essay about what Jesus means to them and it was read in front of the whole church.
That is wonderful for him
Congratulations!
i know very little about lutherans and what confirmation entails. i wonder if it’s a little like instruction classes, baptism, and becoming a member of the church is for a mennonite? anyway, i am happy for alex and you and steven!
@aSeriesofFortunateEvents - I don’t remember too much about it cause I guess I was in 7th grade then. We won’t have time for everyone to read an essay but that’s cause our whole class went through it at the same time.
Congrats. That’s awesome. Love the pics, too.
i’m like audrey. i really don’t know what all it means, (please tell me sometime
) but i’m understanding it’s a big deal and a very special event. Two years of study is huge! and this girl is proud of him too. congratulations to alex and to you as his mother. love the family pic, such fine young men you have. all six of ‘em. with oliver looking longer and bigger than ever. my word.
