  • The view from down here

Many a time I've stood in my kitchen mumbling about not being able to reach something, and many a time Steven has been overheard chuckling about my predicament. I may or may not have been quoted saying, "What the hell kind of giants built this place?"
Well, imagine for a moment, while you look at these photos from my eye level, that you're trying to reach the folgers, the cereal, the Mac and cheese or adjust the ceiling fan.
    Imagine what that's like!

  • That looks like the usual hiding spot for my wallet.

  • Beth, you are too funny!
I should send you a step stool. ;)

  • step stools and chairs are a short girl's best friend. they are also one of a mom's worst enemies.

  • when hubby and I first got married I set my hubby straight about him being 6'5 and me at 5'4" lol

He was used to the towels in the bathroom being way up high.

  •          You and I share the same predicament.  Love how you shared it.

  • i'm liking that some of the same pics are hanging up at my house. :)

wear those high heels baby! and fake that they are comfy.
i've heard that from a friend who is friends with the pros.

course, that stool @Elizabethmarie_1 - is sending will work too.

  • you may or may not have said that.
hmmm...i think i may need more information on this.
    ;)
    you're a hoot Beth!

  • this is so great - gives me a laugh on my tuesday!
definitely giants, no question about that. :)

  • lol.  I'm from a tall family and we put stuff high :) Then I have friends that come over and can't believe how high everything is :P

  • We actually have a tall ladder in our house for tall jobs. It looks funny leaning against the wall, but it is very handy.

  • That's hilarious!!! Didn't know you were that short:)

  • Funny!  I am forever in the same predicament and forever jumping up on the countertop to reach stuff. ;)

  • I have shown your page to several people, very clever idea. I use the top shelf in my kitchen a lot. Not all of my roommates thought that was a good idea.

  • I wish I was a little bit taller, I wish I was a baller, I wish I had a cat in a hat......nevermind....

  • @DanielleNicole99 - haha!

@smilesbymiles - @down_onthefarm - @richlyblest - @Elizabethmarie_1 -  I actually have a stepladder folded up beside the fridge, however, it's kind of a pain to get out so I usually just complain and stretch or jump up on the counter, etc. It's even more convenient to drag over a chair from the table. I also don't want my kids to see the ladder or know it's there.I Have to be fast with the chair, it's like they hear it scooting and they come running and while I'm getting something down there's suddenly 3 kids in the chair with me all of a sudden.  "What are we doing, mom?!"

  • i'm tall for a girl.. but even our cabinets have me saying the same thing!!! the obvious answer is - men build kitchens and they don't have a clue of what works and doesn't since they're not in them very much. ;) )

    you crack me up, shortie.

  • You know, you can get extension chains for the ceiling fan.

I went to help my sister move into her new place. She gave me the task of putting things away in her new kitchen. I got stuff on the bottom shelf of the upper cabinets and had to quit. I couldn't even reach the second shelf, and there was not yet a chair in the house that I could stand on. It was built for giants as well. My house is built for normals like me - I can reach all the shelves.
